Fuel Dispensing Equipment

How we receive our fuel is something most of us take for granted but has in fact become logistically very efficient. This is because fuel is expensive and to efficiently deliver every last drop to maximise profitability is a priority.

It is not just the petrol pump on the garage forecourt that we are all so familiar with that delivers our fuel. For a start there are lots of different types of petrol pumps for different situation. We are all familiar with the regular pump that we use to fill our cars, but there are specialist pumps for different uses such as for heavy industry and heavy transport. There is also a range of fuel dispensing equipment that contributes to the process of supplying us with our fuel. There are also management systems, flow meters, hoses and dispensing nozzles all playing a part in guaranteeing the efficiency of the operation of dispensing fuel.

Management systems for example are used in commercial situations and can record who used the system at what time and how much fuel they used, while flow metres monitor the fuel quantities as it is dispensed. Then there are the mundane things, but no less important, like hoses and nozzles which need to be in good working order or all the high technology equipment will be for nothing if the fuel is going to just go to waste because of a leak in a hose or nozzle.

This constant measuring and monitoring of fuel is not just to maximise profit, albeit a secondary benefit, is that it makes sure fuel does not escape and cause environmental damage.
